What to Know Before Attending the Fox Cities Parade of Homes

The Parade of Homes is almost here! What better way to enjoy the fall weather than touring some incredible homes? The Home Builders Association of the Fox Cities is once again hosting the Fox Cities Parade of Homes this fall. Our Parade home can be found at 1200 Bobby Court in Kimberly, WI.

Viewing hours are as follows:

SATURDAY (10/3): 11AM - 5PM

SUNDAY (10/4): 11AM - 5PM

THURSDAY (10/8): 5 - 8PM

FRIDAY (10/9): 5 - 8PM

SATURDAY (10/10): 11AM - 5PM

SUNDAY (10/11): 11AM - 5PM

In light of several Fox Cities health departments issuing a public health emergency, HBAFC leadership has recently met and determined that a maximum of 8 people may be allowed within any parade home at one time.

Obviously circumstances are a little different this time around, so HBAFC has set safety precautions for homebuilders and guests to follow. These guidelines ensure the event will be a safe and enjoyable experience for all who participate. We wanted to make sure you know what is expected of all guests and builders to do their part in preventing the spread of COVID-19, so continue reading for more information.

socialdistancing

1. Face masks

All Parade of Homes participants must wear face mask coverings when inside of the homes and in the garages. Keep your mask on at all times when viewing homes- it must cover both your mouth AND nose. Your mask helps to protect others, their masks help to protect you, and it works best when everyone wears one.

2. Clean socks

Typically, the HBAFC asks Parade participants to wear booties when walking through each home. This year, participants are asked to take off their shoes before entering the home and wear a clean pair of socks instead of disposable foot coverings. This practice will help to reduce the amount of germs being spread from person to person.

In the case that participants cannot walk through the homes without shoes due to medical reasons only, they must bring an extra pair of clean, dry shoes to change into in the garage. After changing into clean shoes, they must then put shoe coverings over those shoes. Street shoes are not permitted in any instance.

3. Distancing

Be courteous of other's space and use common sense when it comes to being aware of social distancing guidelines. Whenever practical, maintain a 6 foot distance away from anyone not part of your group. Children 12 and under should always remain in the same room as their adult chaperone. If possible, leave your children at home.

Please refrain from handshaking representatives, as it could lead to unknowingly transfering germs.

4. Sanitizing

Cypress Homes will be regularly sanitizing high-contact surfaces. Hand sanitizers will be available for use at each Parade home, and it's recommended that you use them before and after viewing each home. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own sanitizing equipment for personal use.

5. Touch Surfaces

We get that one of the most exciting aspects of the Parade is touching the finishes in each home! However, to limit the number of germs spread, we ask that you not touch surfaces inside the home unless necessary. No doubt it will be tempting to feel all the beautiful selections put into our homes, but other viewers will thank you for being responsible.

Additionally, sitting on furniture inside the home is not permitted.

6. Cost of Tickets

Tickets cost $12 per person if purchased before the event takes place. They can be purchased on the Fox Cities Parade of Homes website at any time, or at the HBAFC office from Sept. 28 - Oct. 11.

Tickets cost $15 per person from Oct. 3-4 & 8-11, and will then also be available at any of the Parade Homes during event hours. Please bring the correct amount of change to limit surface contact.

All people 5 years of age and older must have a ticket in order to be admitted into homes.

We look forward to seeing you there! If you have questions regarding these guidelines, feel free to contact the Home Builders Association of the Fox Cities at (920) 731-7931.
