The kitchen is a very important area in the home, it’s where you spend time enjoying meals with your family, entertaining guests, and preparing some fabulous dishes! A kitchen is one of the most used rooms in a home, so it’s important that you love it.
Is your kitchen out of date and ready for some upgrades?
Well you’re in luck, we have found some of the top kitchen trends to help you get started on transforming your kitchen into your dream kitchen! Keep reading to learn more about the top kitchen trends.
Appliances –
Stainless appliances are still the most popular when it comes to appliances. One reason being so is because there are so many styles of stainless steel kitchen appliances that there is sure to be something for just about everyone. Stainless steel appliances give your kitchen that classy and sophisticated look, and pairing them with the right color cabinets will really make it pop! Worried about the fingerprints? Now you don’t have to, many manufacturers offer fingerprint resistant stainless steel!
When choosing appliances it is also important to think if you prefer freestanding or slide-in ranges. Slide-in ranges have the burner and oven controls located up front and they are a bit wider on the top to overlap the counter top, which gives it that built-in look and it makes it easy to clean because crumbs aren’t able to slip through the side gaps.
Freestanding ranges are a little easier to install. Also a noticeable difference between the two is that the freestanding range has a back guard where all of the oven and burner controls are located. A freestanding model is about 10-15{447216cae66a4d332ab0ac71eb11e27716218036a4f422ac40162b059a195e14} cheaper than a comparable slide-in range. There is not really a performance difference between the two, it’s mainly a matter of preference in style.
Faucets/Sinks –
Hands-free, sensor-activated faucets are one of the newest trends! No more transferring a mess when touching the faucet. It’s extremely convenient when your hands are dirty and you need to use the sink and makes daily kitchen tasks a little easier. The kids love them and they are a great way to prevent the spread of germs.
Bold colored sinks are becoming popular and more people are requesting that extra pop of color in the kitchen. This new trend is a great way to accent your kitchen and really give it that “wow” factor.
Counter tops/Large Islands –
Countertops play a crucial role in the overall style of the kitchen. Granite countertops are still the most popular but they can also be costly. There are plenty of other options when choosing a counter top besides granite. Many manufacturers offer granite look-alike options such as; laminate, solid-surfacing, and polymer slabs. Granite or a granite look-alike will give your kitchen that sleek look.
Is your kitchen lacking counter space? A great way to expand your kitchen counter space is adding a kitchen island. Large islands are becoming more of a necessity in the kitchen. Not only does it provide extra seating but it can also be a great way to add some extra storage space!
Cabinet Style/Color –
There are so many options available when picking out your cabinetry. Stained maple continues to be the most popular among our customers, but painted cabinets are growing in demand as well. The great thing about cabinetry is that there is an abundance of options; from traditional to modern to anywhere in between. It is a great way to reflect your personality and style.
If you really want to give your kitchen a new look try white cabinets, they are a versatile choice for almost any kitchen. The white cabinets really allow you to play around with the kitchen decor and color palettes. The great thing about white is that you have no boundaries when it comes to choosing a color, you can play it up or play it down and either way it will contrast beautifully with the white cabinets. White cabinets also brighten up the space nicely.
Pantry/Storage Space –
Storage space is always in high demand in the kitchen. One way to add a little more space is to put in a walk-in pantry. A pantry can store all of the necessities; snacks, canned foods, baking supplies and even items like paper towel or aluminum foil. By having a walk in pantry, you can make room in the drawers and cabinets for items that are used on a daily basis.
Another storage space secret is to incorporate smart design options into your kitchen. Smart design options can be roll out drawers or adding additional cabinets underneath the island.
Try utilizing some of these top kitchen trends when making some changes in your current kitchen or designing your the kitchen in your new home! And remember, it’s your kitchen so make it into one that you’ll love!
