We recently attended the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, NV.  This was a great experience both for the exceptional educational seminars and the product demonstrations.  In this post, we will be going over a few of the new products we found while walking the show floor.

USB Charging Outlets

With the vast amount of mobile devices we use in our lives today this product just makes sense.  This handy little feature allows you to plug in and charge any device with a USB connector.  The USB ports are located on the sides of standard outlets, so you still have the plug available for other electronic devices.  The outlets come in a variety of configurations including standard outlets, GFI outlets, switches, and more.  This would be ideal for charging stations, desks, catch-alls, or anywhere else you often charge your mobile devices.

Kohler Combines Water + Music

This year’s show featured not one, but two new Kohler products that uniquely add music to your bathing experience.

The first is the VibrAcoustic Hydrotherapy bath tub.  This soaking tub allows you to choose feel the music vibrations within the tub.  The unit comes with pre-recorded music specifically designed for a relaxing experience, as well as a jack to connect an iPod or other device with your own music.

The second product Kohler demonstrated was the Moxie Showerhead + Wireless Speaker.  This does exactly what you would expect, it plays music during your shower.  The wireless speaker is designed for the high moisture of a shower and allows you to keep your not-so-water-friendly devices a safe distance away.  The speaker is a detachable Bluetooth device that attaches magnetically to the showerhead face.  The battery is rated to last for roughly 7 hours of use before needing to be charged.

Faux Wood Beams

Many people love the look of old world wood beams, but the cost of the beams and the labor to install them can be extremely expensive.  This product is made of a high density polyurethane that replicates wood products without the worry of rotting, splitting, warping, or fading.  These beams also weigh a fraction of what a real wood beams would, making it easier for installers to work with.  Getting that old world look just got a lot more affordable.

Oversized Sliding Glass Doors

At 10’ tall, this oversized sliding glass door allows you essentially an entire wall of viewing.  This product would be great for waterfront properties or any home with a gorgeous view.
