It’s that time of the year again. This coming weekend, June 17, will mark the day we show our appreciation to our father. We here at Cypress Homes want to say a big Thank You to our fathers for all that they have done. Here are some gift ideas that we are considering giving for Father’s Day this year.

Homemade

If you are looking for something inexpensive this year, how about making something that shows your appreciation for all the time that he’s been there for you? Something simple such as a scrapbook to show all the fun times you had together or maybe a card that simply says “Best Dad in the World”. If you’re looking for something more creative, how about trying to make this jumbo tape dispenser?

Hobby

What does your father enjoy doing during his free time? If he likes sports then sports tickets or sports equipment may be a gift idea for you. If he enjoys the outdoors try a fishing themed gift basket or something he’s missing in his camping gear.

Food

The fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach or so the saying goes. By using this philosophy you can come up with many potential ideas. If you love to bake then something easy to make is homemade cookies or cupcakes. If baking isn’t your strength then how about going to that restaurant that your father enjoys or a place that he’s been meaning to try, but just never had the chance.

Technology

What better way to keep in touch with your father than giving him the latest technology. The latest smartphone or the latest laptop will help you keep in touch even if you are not in the same area. If he is not tech savvy then something simple like a navigation device for his car could be simple gift that is well received. That way you won’t have to worry about your father getting lost the next time he comes to visit!

Time

The final idea is the simplest yet, your time.  Spending time with your father could be the best gift of all. Why not take him out to a ballgame or perhaps you could just spend time talking with him? See how his day is going or reminisce. Sometimes the best gift is to just simply to be there when they need you.
