Facebook Poll Winners – January, February, March 2021

During the first 3 months of 2021, we surveyed our Facebook friends and followers to discover some of their favorite design styles. We've enjoyed healthy debate on topics such as tile showers, kitchens and selections, and we're excited to share our summary of those results! Take a look below at the winners, and be sure to partake in our different polls throughout the year. If you wish to read about previous poll winners from previous years, you can here or here

Tiled showers are a very customizable area of a home, and we'd frankly be happy with any of the choices that this poll showcased. Though, having a large bench and tiled floor really made the winner of this poll stand out.

Range hoods have evolved recently into not just centerpieces of the home, but talking points for the whole house. The ability to coordinate paint. and stain colors from other areas of the home or trim have improved style and overall balance within the space.  The winner of this poll was the rich, dark stain that really set a quality contrast with the white cabinets.

Newel posts and stair styles enhance the ability for spaces in a room to flow nicely into the other.  We can appreciate a more classic look of wood spindles or a modern approach, but a balance of the two with stained newel post and wrought iron baluster was the preferred choice for this poll.

Another customizable space is that of shelving, especially in functional areas such as the kitchen. Whether used for decor or functional items such as coffee and beverage storage, all of these improvements add style and function to already beautiful spaces. Here, the custom floating shelf look that added symmetry to the sink area was the fan favorite.

Flooring choices have really become very practical and functional over the years, and vinyl plank and tile have given both builders and clients more practical and cost-effective options over the years. The clear runaway favorite here was the luxury vinyl plank, which helped create a beautiful mudroom entryway for this homeowner.

This poll heated up quickly, as gas fireplaces have asserted their dominance in new construction. Depending on your design style and natural body temperature, the facebook faithful still found sitting on a raised hearth next to the fire was the best way to enjoy the warmth.

Apron front sinks are often the focal point of a proper kitchen, and being at the heart of the home, having something that suits your style is important for those who spend a lot of time in that area.  These style of sinks can allow for extra capacity and versatility without compromising on appearance. Here the favorite was the plain front in white, allowed for a clean look and amazing functionality.

Our parade home this past fall didn't disappoint, and we received a lot of comments on the spaces created in this new Cottonridge model.  Although there were other great aspects of this home, our facebook friends chose the kitchen as the favorite space here.

The results of this poll surprised our team a little bit. Fireplaces have some ability to be moved to create a custom space for those looking to build.  We included three common approaches to fireplace location and the corner fireplace was preferred over an interior or exterior wall.

Our parade and showcase homes certainly offered different styles to today's consumers.  A was part of our Juneberry model, B came from our new Cottonridge model, and C was the kitchen from our Karalyn.  Though we think all were beautiful, the kitchen of Cottonridge model was chosen as the favorite. You can always see more of these homes by heading over to our page of past parade homes

We chose our Karalyn model, which has a large master bathroom, as a great way to poll the audience on some of their preferred  design tastes. Turns out that the recent Karalyn model we built had some of the modern design and style that today's homeowners prefer, as the master bath from that home was indeed the poll winner.
