At Cypress Homes, we care deeply about our customers and their homes, as well as the communities in which we build those homes. We are always looking for ways to give back and improve our local area, so we've continued our tree-seedling program for the third straight year.
In celebration of Arbor Day, Cypress is teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation's Bare-Root Tree program; Cypress will receive seedlings shipped in a dormant state and will then coordinate the distribution of these seedlings to our customers, friends, and anyone else looking to plant and care for a new tree. Read below for directions given on how to properly plant your seedling within the few days following that pickup.
We're coordinating our seedling giveaway with the WHBA Parade of Homes events this upcoming weekend, hoping to give out seedlings on the first day of the parade (4/27) while supplies last. We'll have members of our team at our parade home to hand out the trees and point you in the right direction for taking your seedling home. You'll also find the Right Tree in the Right Place tool that the Arbor Day Foundation has created to be helpful in determining where to plant your seedling on your property.
Cypress will be receiving the following types of seedlings; River Birch (adult, left) & Eastern White Pine (adult, right).
Dependent on demand, you may be able to receive multiple seedlings.
Though we have outlined out some starter instructions for caring for your seedling below, you can direct additional questions about your bare root-tree by directly calling Arbor Day Foundation Member Services toll-free at 888-448-7337 from 8am-7pm CST.
The Arbor Day foundation has laid out a robust handling and instruction kit to help ensure your seedling is properly planted. Watch the video below, with some of these important instructions include:
Trees provide us a wide variety of benefits outside of being an ideal source building material. Trees clean our air, filter our water and work to mitigate storms and flooding. They provide a place to promote mindfulness and picnic, welcome shade, reduce heating and cooling in our homes, block the wind, and serve to create healthier and more connected communities.

We're excited about the future impact of this program on both our community and the environment.
