Community Profile: Greenville


Greenville is a rapidly growing community located just west of Appleton. Since 2000, the population has nearly doubled, making Greenville a home-building hot spot for families and couples. Check out this community profile we’ve created for Greenville:

Location
Greenville is located about 1.5 miles west from U.S. Highway 41 and 1.8 miles north of U.S. Highway 10. There are three main highways and four county roads that run through the town:

  • Highway 15 (Greenville Drive) – connects Greenville with Appleton, Hortonville & New London
  • Highway 96 (Wisconsin Avenue) – connects Greenville with Shiocton & Oshkosh
  • Highway 76 (Municipal Drive) – connects Greenville with Appleton, Fremont & Little Chute
  • County BB (Prospect Avenue & Winnegamie Drive) – connects Greenville with Appleton
  • County CB (Westside Arterial) – connects Greenville with Neenah
  • County CA (College Avenue) – connects Greenville with Appleton
  • County JJ (Broadway Drive) – connects Greenville with Kaukauna

Economy
The Appleton International Airport is located in Greenville and is the driving force behind the town’s economy. Many of Greenville’s largest employers are located in one of six business parks surrounding the airport. These companies include: Air Wisconsin, School Specialty, Jansport, Kimberly-Clark, Federal Express, Miller Electric, Plexus and Gulfstream Aerospace.

Education
Greenville is part of the Hortonville Area School District. The district consists of two elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Greenville also has two parochial schools: Immanuel Lutheran School and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

Government
The Town of Greenville is governed by a town board consisting of the chairman (Jack Anderson) and four supervisors (Dean Culbertson, Mike Woods, Andy Peters, and Mark Strobel). It is also represented on the Outagamie County Board with officials from Districts 32 and 33.

Parks & Recreation
Greenville has 10 community parks, many of which connect to the Greenville Trail. The town offers an outdoor community movie nights throughout the summer along with tennis lessons. The Greenville Youth Sports organization and the Fox West YMCA are also recreational providers in the area.

Other places to visit near Greenville include the Chaska Golf Course, Special Memories Zoo and Homestead Meadows Farm.

Restaurants
Greenville has lots of local bars and restaurants, most of which are located right along Greenville Drive. Some popular places are Third Base Sports Bar & Grill, Vinny’s Pizza & Pasta, Route 15 Sports Bar & Beer Garden, Pizza King, and Spectators Sports Bar & Grill.
