Having the latest gadgets in your home can not only save you time and money, but make your friends jealous while doing it! So we thought that we would bring you the top 10 Home Gadgets from the T3 Gadget Awards 2012.
The Dyson DC39 is a revelation from traditional cylinder cleaners. In the past they refused to be dragged around corners. You had to manually lift it up and round the corner. Dyson Ball tech makes navigation easy and in terms of power, it leaves nothing behind. Radial Root Cyclone Technology by Dyson means no mess and a direct to bin dumping mechanism which includes a removable container that opens directly into the garbage, so you don’t even have to look the dirt in the face. The trigger mechanism changes air pressure and the wind-up power cable works perfectly, NO more tripping and running over electrical cords!
The Nest Smart Thermostat is unlike anything that’s come before it. It can help you save the world directly from your iPad or Android device. You can look through previous weeks’ heating usage, relate it to the current weather and generally tweak your home heating to you get the heat you need, cut waste and save money. The design is superb, resembling a space age sports car speedometer mixed with an old fashion mechanical thermostat, but it is the menus underneath it all that are so easy to understand and use, you may become a little bit obsessed.
Producing 31,000 brush strokes per minute, Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean produces a brighter smile in a week and when you hold it you get the feeling that you’re holding the next-generation toothbrush. Two brush heads, timing modes are all extras on top of a brilliant gadget, designed to impress the whole family, or visiting guests. One glance at the design and you’ll want to trash your rubberized, chunky toothbrush. The Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean looks like it belongs in the kitchen or the garage not the bathroom!
The Kitchen Aid In-Sink Dishwasher boasts a 30 minute wash program and can wash up to five place settings via the space saving trap door. Kitchen Aid says the In-Sink Dishwasher manages a 20{447216cae66a4d332ab0ac71eb11e27716218036a4f422ac40162b059a195e14} water saving and 30{447216cae66a4d332ab0ac71eb11e27716218036a4f422ac40162b059a195e14} energy saving compared to rival dishwashers and given its small surface footprint it is true. It is truly designed to give you more space while cooking. Plates and cups can simply be dragged and dropped into the surface level dishwasher without any bending down or tugging on racks of heavy plates. This could be the start of a new era in dishwashers.
Plumen has changed the perception of light bulbs forever by creating a twirling work of art which has made its way into the Design Museum. The Plumen 001 is an eco bulb with a physical twist. The bulb lasts 8 times longer than your standard bulb and offers an 80{447216cae66a4d332ab0ac71eb11e27716218036a4f422ac40162b059a195e14} energy saving. This bulb looks great on or off!
Hoover enters the robo cleaner market with a device that costs as much as a standard cleaner, offering to do all the hard work for you. Working across all floors, the Robo.com2 will start cleaning automatically when fully charged if you choose the auto clean mode. Alongside the dual brush bar, there’s a UV lamp to blast bacteria and a floor polisher elegantly wedged inside the slick disc exterior. With advanced sensor technology, rubber bumpers to protect your furniture and a rotating side brush to target hard to reach areas, it’s an impressive robo debut for Hoover. More importantly it will make all of your friends jealous while saving you time!
A space saving food processor for design conscious cooks, the colorful Magimix Le Mini Plus range looks so good, you won’t want to put it in a cupboard. A three year guarantee and a motor guaranteed for 12 years says it all. You can mix, grate, slice, knead, whisk and chop food at speed with little mess. A 0.6kg capacity is enough for the biggest of meals while the range of included attachments help you make dips and complex recipes quickly and easily.
The Tetra Shed is a piece of wooden origami that, when closed, repels the elements and stands tall, like a mini volcano. A single Tetra Shed can hold two people in an office environment with ease and the triangular windows open like gull wings of a sports car. Tetra Sheds can form a classroom as there’s no limit on the amount that can be stuck together. Comes in any color under the spectrum and even camouflage!
The John Deere Robomower means business for your garden. Featuring programmable controls on a neat dashboard, a neatly secluded blade mechanism and rugged wheels, make it suitable for any terrain. The John Deere Robomower will save you time, energy, and make your neighbors green with envy!
The Scanomat Top Brewer looks like a stylish tap from a luxury kitchen catalogue but inside is some of the most advanced coffee-making technology in the world. Fully automatic and grinding beans out of sight, all you see is the tap. Selecting drinks via a side board mounted touch panel is just the beginning of the options available because drinks can also be ordered via iPhone or iPad. Simply place a cup under the tap, tap your iPhone and watch as your drink is delivered in seconds. The patented wonder tap dispenses milk, water and jets of steam that can be used to blanch vegetables. It even automatically cleans itself!
These cool new tech gadgets are the latest and greatest in home accessories. They are also sure to make your friends and family jealous. Anyone of these would make a good addition to your new or existing home!
