During the final 3 months of 2020, we surveyed our Facebook friends and followers to discover some of their favorite design styles. We've enjoyed healthy debate on topics such as pantries, 2 story great room features, siding selections, and more. Read more about these below!
This one was over pretty much an hour into the poll. What we're happiest with is that we know all of the owners of these pantries will certainly be happy for years to come.
We specialize in custom homes, and this one really boasted some rustic features that the homeowners . For most of you though, the idea of a trap-door was one that you couldn't pass up.
This range hood debate heated up quickly, but in the end the our beautifully stained wood range hood was the winner.
There are some truly functional storage ideas that not only define master bathroom spaces, but the extra storage may even eliminate the need for a separate more "traditional" linen closet. This flexibility gained during the design process can really modernize a bathroom space, where we see a lower cabinet and upper glass cabinet with functional shelves emerge as the favorite.
This one wasn't even close. Although combined or separate modules and showers are the choice of some of those building, the modern design and partial glass enclosure below absolutely blew away with the competition.
Gas insert fireplaces have really become commonplace in homebuilding, and carry the ability to be both a functional comfort as well as part of the overall aesthetic of the space. Our Cottonwood model boasts an incredible 2-story great room with stone surrounding the fireplace from floor to ceiling, and our social media followers really noticed the appeal of this space. There is something to be said for cozy fireplaces within a hearth room or great room, but our followers' favorite was the size and scale that the two story fireplace provides.
Our Homebuilders Association of the Fox Cities has home some truly incredible spaces that were perfectly imagined and implemented to fit the customer's needs. Although all of these spaces packed a punch, the oversized pantry just off the kitchen really was the fan-favorite.
Window configurations certainly can command how light and design really turn a space into something magnificent. Here we had three incredible options in some of our 2-story great rooms, with our former parade home from 2020 emerging victorious.
We find siding selection to be a critical component in the curb appeal of a home. Here, a shake pattern was the preferred favorite, but we know that a proper combination of two or all of them combined can really transform an exterior.
We polled our audience on how they feel a two story fireplace surround should look. Eventually the full stone surround was the favorite, but this was a close race with all of the options receiving many votes.
We put this poll up just before the new year started, as having a dedicated beverage space in your kitchen that is both functional and appealing has been a popular inclusion in many recent builds. Whether used for entertaining, for a dedicated coffee area, or a more "adult friendly" space, the possibilities seem endless. Although we think all of them are outstanding, here we saw the practical, beautiful and functional space below emerge victorious.
